Saratoga County will hold public meetings to gather public input for updating their Hazard Mitigation Plan. The purpose of the public meeting is to provide a project overview from H2O Partners, Inc., consultant to the project, and solicit information from citizens. Public input will help the project team to analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommend possible actions to reduce their impact.
January 22nd @ 4:00PM, April 4th @ 4PM, July 16th @ 4PM

Press Release:
On Thursday December 21, 2023, The Village Police Department received a call reporting a knife attack on the
Betar Byway (near the Water Tower Apartments). The motive of the attack is unclear at this time. Fortunately,
the victim was able to fight off the attacker with minor injuries reported and refused medical treatment. The
attack reportedly occurred sometime between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The Village Police Department has
called in investigators to aid in their investigation. If the public has any information that may help the
investigation, please contact the Village of South Glens Falls Police Department at (518) 792-6336.
We ask that the public exercise caution and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. Please remember
that the Betar Trail is closed from dusk till dawn and when using the trail, we ask that you avoid walking alone
until further notice. As more information becomes available, we will update the public.
